We’re Raise Recruiting an Ian Martin Company (https://raiserecruiting.com/) , and we’ve partnered with our client, an engineered solutions & custom machine supplier with over 40 years of experience delighting customers. They supply systems featuring Finishing Systems, Pick & Place Robotics, Depalletizers, Palletizers, Labeling, Pallet & Slipsheet Handling, Case & Carton Handling, Conveyors and Sortation Systems.
As the newest Electrical Designer, you’ll be reporting to the Engineering Manager. You’ll provide electrical solutions & designs to solve customer problems. You’ll apply robust design methodologies and engineering principles to develop and realize solutions.
What you’ll be doing:
  • Preparing engineering designs to include concept design, design detail, bill of materials, as-built drawings and manuals for machines and systems
  • Responsible for system electrical functionality and suitability of design
  • Interacting with other departments, suppliers, and customers to obtain pertinent information
  • Working closely with setup technicians to ensure that the machine functionality is complete and approved before shipping
  • Coordinating documents and electronic files associated with a specific job/project
  • Coordinating with team members to determine project details and milestones
  • Creating costing estimate spreadsheets when required
  • Reviewing engineering documents to make certain customer machine expectations are met
  • Assisting with the service when required
  • Maintaining engineering standards and procedures

Working with our client:
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Toledo Ohio. There is a need for approximately 25% travel, for both domestic and international (Canadian) projects. They offer a competitive annual salary, commensurate with experience, benefits, 401K and vacation.
Qualifications:
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a 2-year electrical degree
  • Minimum 5 years of applicable experience, ideally within the automation sector
  • Working understanding of Excel, Word, Solid-Works, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Electrical
  • Understanding of electrical parts, disconnects, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) PLCs, and Microsoft Office
  • Training with NFPA79 (US Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery)
  • Experience with 508A (Industrial Control Panel Construction Documentation Standards)
  • Ability to organize and facilitate team meetings
  • Willing and able to travel to customer locations inside and outside of the United States
